An Acoustic Announcement - Update 1.1.1
When I made this game, I thought it would be neat to have the music come in at random times, just like the popular game "Minecraft". What a stupid idea that was.
I'm currently working on a text-based/visual novel game using dialogic, and I'm not satisfied with its default music system, so I've decided to create my own. This was the perfect game to try it out before I went out to make something more complex.
The way it works is simple. First, I remixed all three tracks using Reaper to make sure each layer worked well by itself. Here's the before and after for comparison:

Then, I exported tracks in different groups like percussion, keys, and lead, I called those groups layers. Each music piece is assigned to a different level, when the player reaches that level, all layers play at once. The volume of each layer is based on the player's position and some mathematical magic.
This video showcases the system in action, highlighting the increasing complexity of the music as I get higher:
That's it for this update. Playtesting this game was a nightmare. I hope you have a terrible time playing it.
